Dist:0.7km<br/>Looking downstream towards the A15 from the bridge on the Etton road. This land round Etton has an interesting history stretching back to neolithic times. See http://www.eaareports.demon.co.uk/landscape.html and search for Maxey Cut. This traditional seasonal wetland farming area was effectively drained when the Maxey Cut was enlarged in 1953. Note the gravel river bed. There have been extensive gravel extraction workings at Maxey ([[TF1207]], [[TF1208]] and [[TF1307]])

Dist:0.8km<br/>The A15 (Glinton bypass) viewed from (and showing part of) the footbridge that crosses it. Helpston Road is clearly visible in the photograph (the bridge over a drain beside the A15 is visible) - this continues to Helpston, but was blocked off in the early 1990s to reduce the amount of traffic coming in and out of Glinton from these crossroads (as Arthur Mellows Village College is a little further along Helpston Road).
