Dist:0.3km<br/>A new housing development has been created by Embsay Beck, at the north end of the village of the same name. This tall chimney appears to be have been restored and left intact at the entrance - a rather interesting feature, which is probably a relic of one of the six spinning mills that used to thrive here at one time.

Dist:0.3km<br/>You can travel from here to Bolton Abbey by preserved steam railway; at Bolton Abbey station, there is usually a bus which will convey you about a mile to the remains of Bolton Priory, on the River Wharfe. Entrance to the Priory ruins is free of charge to pedestrians, but if you come by car, there is a charge for parking.

Dist:0.3km<br/>0-6-2T No 6619 was built in 1928 at Swindon by the Great Western Railway. It is an unusual visitor to Embsay, being normally found on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Seen here in original BR black with 'cycling lion' emblem. Altogether there are nine engines of this class in preservation.
