These premises are now occupied by Skopos Design Ltd, who produce printed fabrics pricipally for the leisure and business market. This picture was taken on an open day when various processes including printing and quilting were being demonstrated. The mill also houses a restored steam engine 'Sara'; this however no longer drives any machinery.

Part of the road is a bit less high due to the failure of the retaining wall. The roadd is terraced onto a steep hillside at this point, as shown by [[442397]]

This is the site shown externally by Alan Murray-Rust [[440305]].
The engine is a tandem compound that was built as a single by Cardwell (the only survivor) and compounded by Woodhouse & Mitchell of Brighouse. It is unusual in that it always appears to have run non-condensing. It was restored by Chris Evans and Paul Akrigg in the 1980s but now runs rarely.
