Dist:0.1km north<br/>This is proof that the use of railway arches for business premises is still thriving in 2007. The railway in question is the Midland main line from London to Bedford and beyond.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>The southern end of the southbound carriageway of the motorway is here at its junction with the A406 North Circular Road, or to be more prescise it is where the white coach is coming down the hill in the distance. The road in the foreground is on the ground level roundabout of the A406.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>Staples Corner is named after the Staples Mattress Factory which occupied a building at this junction from 1926 until 1986. The present day Staples office retailer took advantage of a ready made location with great publicity when the area was redeveloped after the IRA bombing of April 1992. This is the eponymous roundabout at the ground level junction of the A406 North Circular Road with the A5 Edgware Road. The main A5 runs on the lower flyover, with the A406 on the higher one to the right.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>This the southern end of the northbound carriageway of the motorway seen at its junction with the A406 North Circular Road. The main through route of the North Circular Road is on the flyover to the right. This part of the motorway was not part of the original route and was only built in the 1970s.

Dist:0.7km west<br/>The bridge was built to take Cool Oak Lane over the northern extension of the reservoir. Nowadays it has traffic light management and a vehicle weight restriction.

Dist:0.7km west<br/>I was waiting at the traffic lights for Cool Oak Bridge, looked through the railings and saw this heron catch a fish. It is using the pontoons of the former Youth Sailing Base as its fishing platform - see also [[61785]].

Dist:0.7km west<br/>This is the smaller section of Brent Reservoir north of Cool Oak Bridge. It was closed as a sailing base in 2004, leaving the wildfowl undisturbed.

Dist:0.7km north<br/>The former Roman Road of Watling Street and the current A5 West Hendon Broadway just clip across the south western corner of this grid sguare, and the 188000 Northing runs straight through the near corner of Trianon House here. The stone plaque set in the bay between the first and second floors reads St John's Parade West Hendon
