Dist:0.2km north<br/>Taken from the footpath that runs along the top of the tunnel the return sand empties from Kings Cross goods head back north to Fen Drayton. Welwyn North station can be seen in the background.This is still a bottle neck on the East Coast railway and causes delay as either side of the tunnels and viaduct the line returns to four tracks.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>The viaduct has 40 brick arches and carries the East Coast Main Line over the River Mimram valley, just to the north of Welwyn Garden City. The Road is Digswell Park Road and lies just within the southern boundary of TL2415. Half of the viaduct visible in the picture is actually in TL2414.

Dist:1.3km west<br/>The Roman Baths at Welwyn are now sadly in an underground bunker, as the A1M motorway now passes directly overhead. The white figure in the foreground is modelled on one of the archaeologists who excavated the site; the distant white figure is modelled on the man who first discovered the existence of this Roman site, having found a single roman tile in a nearby stream.
