The artist is Laurence Broderick. The enlargement process was carried out by casting a model of the bull in plaster from the original maquette mould, and then slicing it (like a loaf of bread). Each slice was measured and calculations were made to enlarge each slice. The new dimensions were projected onto sheets of polystyrene of the scaled-up thickness. The outline of the image was marked out and the waste cut away. The enlarged slices were then stuck together and shaped using files. Layers of fibreglass, resin and plaster followed. The finer details were added before the finished Bull was smoothed down and polished, ready for sandcasting. Bronze is poured into the mould of The Bull at Pangolin Editions Foundry in Gloucestershire. The model for this sculpture, Bull Maquette, measuring 46 cm in length, is available in a limited edition of twenty-five and also 80 cm in length in a limited edition of ten.

Family run city centre bar, which opened in December 1997, on the corner of Digbeth and Allison Street. It was in these premises until recently, and is about to re-open in different premises further along the road.

Still in use 100 years after it was built, is this very ornate police station. Birmingham's first generation tramway ran along here, but the system finally closed in 1953. Some years ago, when the road was dug up, it was found that the tram rails were still there, but had been asphalted over. When the work was completed, the rails were again covered with asphalt. This is a splendid ornate building from the Edwardian period, and still in use today as a police station. It makes a great contrast to some of the dreary buildings in the vicinity. It was designed by the City Surveyor, Henry Stilgoe, in 1911. [[2291892]].
