Dist:0.6km north<br/>This lake has presumably been created by the damming of the River Misbourne somewhere in the grounds of Denham Place, as the river flows freely as it exits under the boundary wall on the downstream side. This view was taken from the A412 Denham Avenue road bridge over the River Misbourne.

Dist:0.6km east<br/>Pyghtle (or pightle) is an endearing Anglo Saxon word to describe a small enclosure of land. This one is now a public footpath and goes from Denham Village to Denham railway station. It is also now on the route of The South Bucks Way.

Dist:0.7km east<br/>There is a weekday half-hourly service to London Marylebone from here, currently operated by Chiltern Railways. The journey time to London is also about half an hour. The large grassy area between the two existing platforms suggests that an island platform may also have existed here in the past. (Postscript 15 October 2006: I am indebted to an e-mail correspondent, Antony Rainer, for advising me that the station used to have four tracks running through it. These were removed in the 1980s. So my suggestion that the grassy area may have contained a central island platform is incorrect.)

Dist:0.8km east<br/>This Wagon-Lits Restaurant Car No.2757 was situated adjacent to the "Denham Express" Public House, near to Denham Railway Station. Photographed around 1969 on a very wet day.The coach was eventually sold to Southall Railway Centre, who stored it out in the open for many years. It was sold to a Dutch Railway Installation and moved to Holland in 2004, where it remains to this day.

Dist:0.8km north<br/>Frampton Court is a four storey residential block of flats on the north side of Denham Green Lane, west of the junction with Green Tiles Lane. In line with the third concrete bollard from the left is a Public Bridleway sign, pointing away up the northern half of Green Tiles Lane. This used to be a driveable road leading out onto the A412 North Orbital Road, but must have been closed to motor traffic in the not too distant past because both the Ordnance Survey 1:10,000 scale mapping and Streetmap show it as an open short cut.
