Dist:0.4km north<br/>Brand new vicarage in Crymych. Crymych itself has no church, only chapels, but the Church in Wales vicar who lives here is responsible for a group of small churches in the surrounding area.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>Stark and simple 'zinc' structure with grassy lawn and heap of boulders, alongside the pavement in Crymych. Could be a barn or a garage? It seems to possess its own special aesthetic.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>This agricultural machine depot, on the Newport Road, with its 1950's style corrugated-tin structures is a good introduction to what this upland farming community is about: rural life and not a lot of change.

Dist:0.5km south<br/>It must have been a thrill to see the Cardigan to Whitland train emerging from this tunnel right into the station at this point. Now it has become the backdrop to greenhouses and a duckpond, someone having made imaginative use of the old cutting.

Dist:0.6km south<br/>The inn gave its name to the village, having long stood at the convergence of six roads crossing the upland area of Pembrokeshire, and must served many a drover, farmer and traveller as a meeting place and a stop-over. When the railway arrived in 1875 the inn gained in importance but it has survived the closing of the line and remains the only hostelry in this isolated community.

Dist:0.6km south<br/>Slate plaque outside the market hall. Ploveilh (called in French Plomelin) is a small town near Quimper in Finisterre, Brittany. Many Welsh towns and villages have Breton twins, for obvious reasons.

Dist:0.6km south<br/>Frenni Food Fair is an annual summer event of recent years that takes place in the market hall at Crymych. Most of the participants, both producers and purchasers, are local, but with a sprinkling of visitors from further afield.

Dist:0.6km south<br/>The NFU, the post office and the Chinese take-away...some of the essential services in this upland community in Wales' wild west. This street was once the way to the station but even though the railway line has gone the village retains its importance in the area with a Welsh-medium secondary school, small rural businesses and light industry.

Dist:0.6km south<br/>The station was built in 1875 to the design of J.W.Szlumper who was surveyor for the county of Cardigan and also a railway engineer responsible for several Welsh lines. The goods sheds has become part of the industrial estate while the station itself is now a private dwelling.

Dist:0.6km south<br/>The Market hall was built shortly before WW1 and the plaque on the right is the Roll of Honour to the local men who died in both wars: 50 in the first, 17 in the second. The stained glass windows depict, in the middle, Twm Carnabath, a local man reputed to be leader of the Rebecca rioters, and on either side figures representing technology, industry and craft.
