These mills are next to the river Aire near the centre of Leeds. Taken looking SE from South Accommodation Road as it passes over the river. Considering the rate of development in Leeds I thought it best to photo them before they became yet more student housing and still had character. Photograph was taken from Richmond bridge.

An outdoor section of the Royal Armouries where jousting, amongst other things, is demonstrated. Beyond the yard is the River Aire and imaginative conversion of old mill buildings into apartments and offices interspersed with new builds.

Stage 7 is a major £50m construction project which will complete the City's Inner Ring Road, and provide improved access to and from the M621. It involves the construction of a dual carriageway flyover from Richmond Hill Bridge over Hunslet Road and on to the Hunslet Distributor. A new roundabout is being built at the junction of South Accommodation Road, Atkinson Street and Clarence Road. There will also be considerable changes to the access and exit arrangements at Junction 4 of the southbound M621.

There is a more recent image showing this site closed up and awaiting redevelopment [[594632]] When I photographed it the building was in much better shape than the adjoining Hunslet Mills (flax).
