Dist:0.5km<br/>This part of Shepherds Lane, closest to the motorway, is metalled and has large properties along its length. There is a sheep/wool theme around here (Shepherds and Yarners) - the surrounding downland was, and still is, used for sheep farming.

Dist:0.7km<br/>These two Highland cattle are grazing Shawford Down, seen here near to the prominent war memorial. New fences and gates were erected on the Down before the cattle were introduced. They seem quite indifferent to the people and dogs walking nearby.
