Nice set of 1930s houses. The church tower at the end of the road is All Hallows church. Until 1939 this was in Leadenhall St in the city, but it was rebuilt in Twickenham after its church was demolished. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren.

The Church is in Northcote Road and has an active website here http://www.allsoulschurch.org.uk/ The white stone below the centre window commemorates the construction of the Church and reads: To the Glory of God This MEMORIAL STONE was laid by The Rt. Revd. Alfred Earle D. D. Lord Bishop of Marlborough October 3rd 1896

Richmond's Half Tide Lock opened in 1894. For two hours after the passage of the tide the sluice gates underneath are lowered to block the river. This maintains the water level at a height which enables navigation up to Teddington Lock three miles upstream. This provided navigable water all hours of the day and meant a yacht club, based on the reach, could be sustained

Dist:1.0km north<br/>This Lock at Richmond is used to keep the water level to Teddington above half tide level by raising sluice gates (as they are in the picture). The Lock is 250 x 27 feet.
