Dist:1.1km south<br/>The Woodland Trust welcomes you to explore this area, called Big Round Green. In their excitement to do so someone has lost their hat. The area is a misnomer, it is small, triangular and mostly brown.

Dist:1.1km southeast<br/>In this part of the wood the ground is very irregular with hollows. The Woodland Trust website http://www.wt-woods.org.uk/cowcroftwood/description.asp tells us that these are the remains of mineral workings associated with nearby brickworks.

Dist:1.1km south<br/>This was a mistake. We followed the bridleway, which for the most part is a sunken track that gets no sunlight because of overhanging trees. Because it has been well used by horses it was very muddy. This was one of the better bits. Next time we will follow the walk instructions and use the footpath.
