Dist:0.3km north<br/>Crossing Clunbury Hill with the steep northeast side of the hill tamed by an incline. The slope is too steep for agriculture and is now being won back from the bracken by woodland. There has also been some planting of broadleaves here too.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>The bridleway starts to drop down quite steeply into Clunbury through this gate. Clunton Hill lies immediately beyond Clunbury, with the hiilfort of Bury Ditches in [[SO3283]] on the wooded hill in the background.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>View along the ridge with one of the landmark plantations at the east end. Such woods on hilltops are reputed to be true landmarks to aid navigation. It was once common to find Scots pine clumps on hill tops - sadly many have been blown over, or lost in more extensive plantations.
