The Castle Inn, first referred to in 1420 as Waterslip House, became an inn about 1730 and continues in business to this day. Like the rest of the buildings in the village of Chiddingstone, it is owned by the National Trust.

Dist:0.2km<br/>This tree is beside the long river flowing from East Sussex to Penhsurst and the River Medway. Note, the tree roots bending back into the bank. At one time this tree was away from the river edge, but erosion has meant the tree is now hanging over the river!
