The Grange School now renamed Pedmore technical college for some insane reason. I went to Redhill School down the road in Stourbridge so this was the Home of our sworn enemy. Who happened to be fairly decent chaps actually. The rivalry was good though!

Dist:0.5km<br/>View northward from near the station: ex-GWR Worcester - Wolverhampton line, junction for Birmingham (Snow Hill). The '54/64/7400' classes were larger-wheeled versions of the '5700'/'8750' Pannier Tanks, designed for branch passenger work, the '54/6400' being auto-fitted; the '7400' were not so fitted but had a higher boiler pressure and were therefore more powerful. No. 7402 (built 8/36) is doing shunting work with the usual GW shunters' trolley-wagon.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This large signal box dates from the days of the Great Western Railway, which became part of the former British Railways, when the UK railway network was nationalised in 1948. It is, apparently, a GWR type 7 signal box.

Dist:0.5km<br/>The shuttle service between Stourbridge's Junction and Town stations has just left the former. The connecting line between the branch and the rest of the railway network is visible at the end of the platform, passing Stourbridge Junction signalbox before joining the Birmingham main line via sidings.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Situated in the Park & Ride and near to Stourbridge Junction Railway Station is this public artwork. It seems to be displaying miniature railway signals, what possibly might be a pink engine whistle, and non-working clock faces (they are showing different times). It may well be a new prototype Dalek for Dr Who, or perhaps a modern Tardis? But no doubt it will cheer up many a commuter when they discover what their new season ticket is going to cost.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Still showing its original designation as Stourbridge Junction Middle Signalbox, the signalbox has had new stairs fitted and locking room windows bricked up (probably during World War 2), but still is much as it was when built by the Great Western Railway. All controlled signals are now colour lights and points electro-mechanically actuated.
