Dist:0.6km north<br/>The Half Moon is located in The Street at a corner next to [[847279]]. I can find no information about when it was built but the 1879 Edition of the Ordnance Survey mapping shows it was existing then. Photographs from the Francis Frith collection http://www.francisfrith.com/search/england/surrey/charlwood/photos/charlwood_76010.htm show that a little way down The Street was The Archway which was formed of the merged canopies of two trees whose trunks were on either side of the road. The collection shows the Archway in both 1906 and 1924.
