Dist:1.1km west<br/>This is a timber-framed and weather-boarded barn dating from the 17th century with two wagon entries on this, the southern elevation. It is held by some to incorporate timbers from the Mayflower in which the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for New England in 1620, hence the name. It is a Grade II listed structure, on the east side of Jordans Lane, just up the hill northwards from [[1837410]].

Dist:1.1km west<br/>Just to the north of [[1837410]] can be found the main Quaker burial ground at Jordans. In accordance with Quaker customs all the headstones are identical, the most recent ones being in the sunlight in the distance.

Dist:1.1km west<br/>Whilst walking into the grounds to take [[1837410]] two muntjac deer hurtled across the lane outside, ran across in front of [[1837491]] and disappeared at great speed into the woodland beyond. The photographer just managed to capture an image of one of them. These deer are not native to Great Britain and originate from escapees from Woburn Park around 1925. The fire-damaged but now re-roofed modern extension to Jordans Quaker Meeting House can just be glimpsed beyond the woodland to the left.

Dist:1.1km west<br/>During the 17th century the village of Jordans became a centre for Quakerism and this Meeting House was built in 1688. It retains most of the original bricks, glass, panelling, and benches. The house has a modern extension attached to the opposite out-of-sight, north-eastern, corner and it was this extension that was virtually destroyed in a fire on 10 March 2005. The fire also caused severe damage to the fabric of the roof of the original building. The building is Grade I listed by virtue of its antiquity and associations with the Quaker movement.
