Dist:1.2km west<br/>This photo is a response to Glyn Baker's shot of the A123/A13 junction from the A13 off-slip, taken from the pictured flyover. The A123 Ripple Road is out of shot to the left, whilst Lodge Avenue is just visible on the right hand side of the photo. Nothing very interesting here really, although the blue lights on the roundabout would be quite a sight at night! View taken looking north-north east.

Dist:1.3km east<br/>This is St Peters Roman Catholic Church and its associated estate. It is located in the Gorsebrook Parade Environment Improvement Scheme. It stands directly opposite St Peter’s C of E Church.

Dist:1.3km north<br/>This is a picture of the pond in Parsloe’s Park Becontree. In the seventy or so years since the building of the Becontree Estate the trees and bushes have grown to such an extent that the water is hardly visible to visitors except through a few gaps such as this one.

Dist:1.3km northwest<br/>This is the view across the Lake in Mayesbrook Park; Upney Southeast of Barking. The photograph was taken looking westward. The ponds are at the southern end of the park. There are many sports fields at the northern end towards the University of East London.

Dist:1.4km southeast<br/>In the foreground is the gas powered conventional station near Dagenham Dock. In the background is one of two Norman Foster designed wind turbines that supply the power to Ford's Diesel engine plant. The rotor blades are 70m in diameter. The two turbines save 5700 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year

Dist:1.4km northeast<br/>This is the Gorse Brook that gives its name to the Gorsebrook area of the Becontree Estate. Its flood plain provides an area of green in the housing estate. The picture was taken near the bridge on Hedgemans Road and looks across Gorsebrook Park.

Dist:1.4km northwest<br/>This is the junction of Lodge Avenue (A1153) and Porters Avenue Dagenham. It is the location for The Roundhouse. Back in the 60’s and 70’s this art deco people's palace of a pub was “The” Rock venue for East London’s headbangers. At one time or another (mostly before they were famous) many of the greatest rock bands ever have played here Led Zep, Deep Purple, Hawkwind, Black Sabbath; also the first gig of Derek and the Dominoes was played here.

Dist:1.5km southwest<br/>This major electrical substation is located in Renwick Road Creekmouth near Dagenham.

Dist:1.5km southeast<br/>The station at Dagenham Dock is right on the corner of four squares (perhaps just about in 4882 rather than the others). The CTRL high speed railway has recently been built running to the left of it and cutting off the road that crossed the line at this point.
