<br/>This photograph shows just part of the school and its grounds. The school occupies the grounds of Carshalton House, an historic building. It is a large Roman Catholic girls' senior school, and is very highly regarded for its excellent academic results - and also, incidentally, for the very good behaviour in public of its students.

Dist:0.1km north<br/>This bridge carries the ex-LBSCR railway line between Mitcham Junction and Sutton. Beyond the bridge, Shorts Road forms a T-junction with Westmead Road (on the left) and Colston Avenue (on the right). Behind the photographer, Shorts Road runs down to a junction with the A232, Carshalton Road.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>From just north of its junction with Pound Street, we look here north along West Street with the railway bridge in the far distance. The 'Race Horse' is on the left, and the 'Hope' on the right. Although it does not appear so in this photograph, the narrow roads of Carshalton are near to breaking point in terms of the excessive motor traffic they have to carry.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>The Race Horse is on the west side of Carshalton, and is a very popular pub, indeed it can become very busy indeed at lunchtime, as a good variety of food is available, and many local workpeople take their lunch there.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>The school is on the west side of West Street. It has a very attractive frontage, which however is completely spoiled by the excessive growth of untended foliage along the front.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>This fine tower looks like a venerable Parish Church, but is in fact a water tower, built for the private waterworks which once served Carshalton House, in whose grounds it stands. The Tower is opent to the public on Sunday afternoons during the summer.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>Carshalton's War Memorial is on the north side of the western of Carshalton's ponds, and on the south side of Honeywood Walk. The Greyhound Hotel is visible across the pond to the left of the Memorial and Honeywood House is visible to the right.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>West Street Lane is a very narrow street which connects West Street with North Street. It is not, however, available now as a through route for motor traffic, being closed off at the far (North Street) end. It is seen here from West Street.
