Dist:0.2km<br/>A Norman castle, built c 1100, mainly of limestone, by Gerald de Windsor - the family later changed their name to "de Carew" and the family still own the castle, leased to the County Council, although it changed hands a few times. It was involved in the Royalist defence during the Civil War. Carew Tidal Mill is nearby.
