Car 09 of the DLR rounds the east to south curve just outside West India Quay station. This car was one of the original flet of 11 cars, and it is now in service in Essen, Germany, (now it has a driver!)

The graceful lines of a cable ship with the characteristic bow sheaves. The latest generation cable ships lack these and do it all from the stern. I really cannot remember where in west India Docks she was moored. The scenery has changed so much I suspect there's nothing left except the quaysides and the water.

This cable ship was found moored in West India Docks in front of one of the new TV companies - I can't remember which. Neither can I remember exactly where she is. I believe she's on the south side of a dock and I'm on the north. This area has changed beyond all recognition and she's been scrapped. We got on board but stupidly took no pictures. She had a pair of magnificent triple expansion engines and more auxiliaries than you could shake a stick at. The "sick bay" was somewhat basic.

This is West India Quay station on the Docklands Light Railway. The picture was taken from the end of Canary Wharf station's platform. The distance between the stations is so short that you wonder why they built Two separate stations.
