The Opera House was built in 1903. In 1927 it became a cinema but fell into disuse in the 1970's. It was renovated in the late 1990's and now holds live music festivals.

The Buxton Pavilion Gardens host many events throughout the year. Pictured is the Octagon Hall from the Pavilion Gardens. If visiting, be aware that parking can be a problem in the area on busy days!

First built in 1789, providing a coach house and stabling for staff of the 5th Duke of Devonshire, but the dome was added in 1881 and the building was converted into a hospital. Today it is owned by Derby University. http://www.visitbuxton.co.uk/

The domed building is the concert hall now known as the Octagon. Designed by Robert Rippon Duke in 1881, it is a huge slate dome weighing 560 tons and spanning 145 feet.
