Dist:0.6km<br/>This is the view from Donkey Street, which leads across Romney Marsh from Burmarsh to Botolph's Bridge. The old sea cliff line is very prominent in the picture and in the centre on the crest of the slope is Lympne Castle. This mainly dates from the 1360s and was extensively rebuilt during the 20th century. Below this to the left are the remains of Stutfall Castle. This was a Roman Saxon Shore fort built at the end of the 3rd century. At that time it would have been by the sea, which has now retreated beyond Romney Marsh. Some stonework is still standing but the position of the walls has changed over the years since it was built as a result of landslides.
