Dist:0.7km<br/>No flow evident after a long hot dry spell. This gill is on the Wadhurst Clay - the many rock fragments in the shoal probably come from this formation which has small seams of harder strata such as sandstones. Very little light reaches down here in summer - 1/20 s, f/4, 1600 ASA!

Dist:0.7km<br/>A rare case of a pit not obscured by trees, its size and the dead tree help, of course. Not a great deal of water left after a hot dry spell. This pit is one of a chain in this area, probably following an ironstone seam in the Wadhurst Clay.
