Formerly part of The Broyle, a medieval deer park and common, that was enclosed in 1767 and like every other highway within the confines of the former park is straight until it reaches Arches Farm when it resumes curvy route as it heads southwards towards Moor Lane.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>The name of the field according to the 1839 tithe map. Formerly part of The Broyle, a medieval deer park and common, which was enclosed in 1767. The name derives from the former army barracks built during the Napoleonic Wars which was located near to modern day Kennel Corner. The land was sold off in 1828 with the resulting fields lining Laughton Road eventually succumbing to housing as developers purchased the small fields which lay some distance from the farm that owned them. Consequently, this small field located on the corner of Laughton Road and Neaves Lane is all that remains.

The hedge on the left marks the southern boundary of The Broyle, a former medieval deer park and common that was enclosed in 1767. To the right is Arches Farm which existed prior to enclosure and was probably sited there to use the common.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>The B2124 which starts at Kennel Corner, the junction with the B2192, and heads to Laughton then beyond to a junction with the A22 near Holmes Hill. Formerly part of The Broyle, a former medieval deer park and common, that was enclosed in 1767. Turnpiked at the same time, like all the other highways travelling through the former park the road is very straight though unlike all other roads this one has a few kinks here and there to ensure it was able to align itself with the road when both the park and parish boundary had been reached at Broyle Place. This view looks into Ringmer down towards Kennel Corner.

The South Downs can be seen in the distance.
