London Transport trains depart from this station for all stations to Whitechapel (or Barking), via Kings Cross. The same destinations can also bu reached by using the District Line, in which case you will travel via Victoria.

This is the northern entrance to Sir Joseph Bazalgette's suspension bridge which was opened in 1887, replacing William Tierney Clark's earlier suspension bridge dating from 1827. The road is the A306, and a No 72 bus bound for East Acton is approaching.

The tarpaulins around the scaffolding on St. Paul's, Hammersmith, are illustrated with the church that they conceal. The real porch can be seen bottom-right of picture, as can the real flagpole top-left.

The recently created Lyric Square that used to be a rat-run for buses before they moved to the bus station, looking north towards Hammersmith Grove. The Lyric theatre is on the left and Hammersmith station (Hammersmith & City Line) is to the right of the advertising hoardings.

The rather strange shaped building called The Ark in Talgarth road, Hammersmith is quickly becoming a famous landmark. On the left is The Hammersmith Flyover and right is Hammersmith British Transport Police station. See also: [[[869059]]]

Maggie's Centres http://www.maggiescentres.org/maggies/maggiescentres/home/about/introduction.html provide places where people affected by cancer can call in and get support. "Maggie's offers information, psychological and emotional support and practical advice." This centre http://www.maggiescentres.org/maggies/maggiescentres/home/centres/london/introduction.html opened in April 2008 was designed by Richard Rogers. It was open to the public in June 2008 as part of Open Garden Squares week-end. Although it looks from outside that it would be dark inside as there are no windows in the ground floor wall, it is very light because there is light through the roof, it is very open inside, and the orange wall only goes a short distance up the first floor.
