Dist:0.5km<br/>Splendid Elizabethan tomb in All Saints' church at Brocklesby http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1245103 to Sir William Pelham who died in 1587 Sir William Pelham was one of the most eminent military commanders in Elizabethan England. He was wounded in the defence of Newhaven in 1563, subsequently Justicar of Ireland and received a knighthood for his services in 1579. On his return from Ireland Sir William was made a Privy Councillor, appointed Master of the Ordnance, and eventually made a Field-Marshal. He is shown kneeling, facing his wife Eleanor Neville with their sons and daughters behind them.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Marvellous alabaster tomb in All Saints' church http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1245103 for Sir William Pelham Kt. who died in 1629. Made by William Wright of Charing Cross for £100 In the best Stuart convention, he lies recumbent beside but slightly above his wife Anne Willoughby indicating his lineage and status as superior to hers. Their 19 children are illustrated as 'weepers' below, 11 boys to the right and 5 girls to the left with those who died in infancy shown holding a skull and three babes who died at birth. Their children are arranged hierarchically with the eldest son and heir (also) William Pelham kneeling at prayer facing his eldest sister.
