On the left are the offices, built before 1907, but probably fairly new then. The building on the right must be 20s or 30s at a guess, with features that perhaps could be called Art Deco. The site is now owned by Younger Homes, and is to be redeveloped.

The weir controlled the water level in the River Calder to provide power to the water wheel of the old flour mill. The intake to the mill race lies at the far end of the weir from the camera

There was a small building here before, I think it was an electrician's premises, but it has been completely rebuilt.

This building has 'Calder Bank Mills' over the door, and was presumably the offices. The mill building was about 50m distance to the rear, with the Quaker burial ground in between. The 1905 map shows it as a silk mill.
