It is possible that the council maybe confused as the company was called historically Low Moor Ironworks and the flywheel is more likely to be 16 foot diameter"

Dist:0.2km north<br/>This road used to go through Low Moor Iron Works. The old industry has been replaced by modern sheds, but these old cottages have survived. There are seven of them, two-up and two-down plus cellar, built before1841 for skilled workers employed by the iron works. They had an allotment at the back.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>St Mark's is a large Victorian church, with a magnificent rose window in the gable of the south transept. It is easily missed, half hidden by trees,and does not get a mention in Pevsner, nor Arthur Mee who took little interest in the suburbs of the large towns.
