This short length of lane to the old junction at Box Trees was abandoned and gated off. Judging by the signs it also resulted in illegal tipping.

The canal is particularly wide this side of the bridge because it is a winding hole, in which boats up to seventy feet in length can be turned round. Bridge No 22 carries Rotherham's Oak Lane.
