Dist:0.3km<br/>A tiny hamlet comprising a farm and a few houses. Once the site of a grange belonging to Fountains Abbey. It is said that Nidderdale was for cattle rearing, and the Craven fells further west were for sheep farming.

Dist:0.5km<br/>In the far bank of Lul Beck can be seen the remains of girders that once supported a railway bridge. This was part of the Nidd Valley Light Railway that ran from Pately Bridge to Scar House and Angram Dams when they were under construction between 1904 and 1936. The railway was set up by Bradford Corporation and from 1904 to 1930 they operated regular passenger trains, a unique feature of a corporation-owned railway. There was a station near here named Ramsgill, serving both Ramsgill and Bouthwaite.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Station House with a turfed over platform and trackbed at Bouthwaite. Although sited nearer to Bouthwaite, the station was known as 'Ramsgill'. It was on the Nidd Valley Light Railway, set up by Bradford Corporation to aid the construction of Angram and Scar House reservoirs further up Nidderdale.
