Sitting back from East End Road, next to Nazareth House. I believe this was originally Knighton Villa. The Poor Sisters of Nazareth purchased the villa and moved here from Chiswick in 1921 to found their convent and care home. Please see [[121986]] for further details. It is currently a home for blind and disabled Jewish people.

Dist:0.1km<br/>These two open areas of common land have survived the suburbanisation of the area to provide space for people to walk their dogs or just enjoy walking on the grass. Sheep were grazed here as recently as the 1930's.

Dist:0.1km<br/>The Poor Sisters of Nazareth purchased Knightons villa and moved here from Chiswick in 1921. They provided care for children and the elderly. The last children left in 1974. Currently residential care is provided for the elderly and mass is held daily in the Chapel. The current care complex and chapel were completed in 1982. Dist:0.1km<br/>A 263 bus stands in a traffic jam on East End Road. It has been diverted from its usual route along the High Road due to a serious accident. The High Road was closed between Church Lane and Oak Lane with traffic being diverted onto neighbouring roads. Long Lane was gridlocked as a result and traffic was moving very slowly on Church Lane.

Dist:0.2km<br/>DLF97 drifts through an area of manicured greenery between Church Lane and Trinity Avenue. In the foreground, a female Blackbird gathers food for her young, undeterred by my presence. She has a nest in the hedge below the Horse Chestnut tree on the left. The floral display on the left is outside Fairacres care home. The white building with scaffolding, visible through the shrubs and trees on the right, is the vicarage of Holy Trinity Church.

Dist:0.2km<br/>VP491 overtakes a cyclist along East End Road as it passes the stops for Trinity Avenue. The 143 route is normally single deck operation but a double decker has been sent out to handle the extra load generated by children from the Bishop Douglass and Christ College schools - you can see several of them sitting against the upstairs front window. There is a 643 double deck route that normally operates at this time specifically for the school run and I wonder if the driver has accidentally set the wrong number in the display?

Dist:0.2km<br/>Cars passing the junction with Hampstead Heights. The flats are part of the Park Farm Close estate. The name recalls Park Farm which was on this site. It was the winter quarters for "Lord" George Sanger's circus. Sanger was murdered here in 1911.

Dist:0.2km<br/>Built on the site of the one-time Summers Brown and Sons cricket bat factory. The factory was a conversion of a 19th century house called Glencroft. The bats manufactured here were used by England cricketer Jack Hobbs - hence the name of the side road, Hobbs Green. Joack Hobbs put the Australians to the sword with a Summers Brown Force bat in the 1924/25 Ashes series. Although England lost the series, Hobbs came away with an average of 60 runs per innings. I have been unable to ascertain when the factory closed, but the houses date to the early 1990's

Dist:0.2km<br/>The stone built church is by architect Anthony Salvin in the Early English style . It was built in 1846 and consists of chancel, nave, and west turret. It was enlarged in 1860 by a south aisle and in 1866 by a north aisle, both provided for in the original design.
