This house was built in 1851 as a school. It is roughly cross-shaped in plan and had two separate entrances, one for boys and one for girls http://www.keystothepast.info/durhamcc/K2P.nsf/K2PDetail?readform&PRNMAP=N8441
It is now used as the Monk Tearoom.
