Dist:0.4km<br/>Taken at the Girl Guides camp site in the late afternoon (planning a photographic Treasure Trail for the Malvern Guides' Centenary Camp).
The land was requisitioned during the second world war where a forces hospital site was built in preparation for D-Day casualties.
After the war there was uproar in the local press when it was suggested the site should become a prison.
The local council took it over and created and created camp sites for The Caravan Club, The Camping Club and The Girl Guides.
The light painted buildings on the right and in the distance are two of the few remaining war time buildings.
The nearby one was used as the "dry shelter" should any Guide Camp become the victim of extreme weather.
It is now known as "The Barn" and can be booked for non-camping accommodation.
The other is the Brownie "Pack House".

Dist:0.4km<br/>View south-east from the public footpath to the cottage on the lane. As is often the case when a path cuts across a field, the farmer has planted the whole field leaving no walkway. All you can do is look ahead in a straight line (and collect lots of mud in the winter).
