A footpath crosses a farm track here, over the log and up the field to near the right hand end of the trees on the horizon (all within the square). The footpath is not clear on the ground though, as most people probably continue on the well-surfaced byway to the left which is a slightly longer route round the field edge to the same place. Extensive arable land around here, although this field is fallow.

The route ahead is byway, as is the route in from the left as indicated by the sign. A footpath heads north, over the log. Behind is a track of equally good surface, but is not public, which the landowner has clearly indicated. Well maintained beech hedges separate the fields in this area.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The byway is clear, continuing to the right following the hedge line. There is also a footpath cutting off a corner, running from here directly to the hedge line in the middle distance. But it seems to be have been marked slightly further left (east) although the land is currently only grass.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Crossing a small summit, the byway continues south, now dropping towards Preston Candover. Extensive arable land borders the path with this field already seeded and crops growing.

Dist:0.7km<br/>This well-established byway meanders south towards Preston Candover. A footpath turns off to the right to confirm the location in gentle rolling arable land.

Dist:0.9km<br/>This byway, having meandered south on relatively flat arable land, suddenly finds steeper contours as it descends to Preston Candover. The steeper contours are clearly shown on the map.

Dist:1.0km<br/>Located by the track going up Tulls Hill, this could be an old chalk quarry. Chalk, despite its properties, is occasionally used as a building stone.

Dist:1.0km northwest<br/>The trees at the centre of this field to the south of Breach Farm mark the position of a disused pit (a chalkpit I presume), one of many similar ones in the vicinity.
