Dist:0.3km north<br/>Taken on a dull November day, when it was trying to snow. The statue is of Birstall's famous son, Joseph Priestley. The market place is of good old-fashioned stone setts, and used as a car park for most of the week.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>In the early 20C there were cinemas in small towns like Birstall. This one has a very showy round pediment. It is appropriate that the School of Dance that now uses the building still uses the name 'Princess'.
