Dist:0.3km<br/>This very neatly prepared field is viewed from a gateway on the green lane just west of its junction with the Berry Pomeroy to Gatcombe lane.

Dist:0.5km<br/>I may have been misled by the size of this creature into thinking it was nearer than it was, but I think it was this side of the gridline. It would have been unwise to check more closely with the GPS, even though, if this is a Red Devon, they are supposedly good-natured.

Dist:0.5km<br/>"The family name of Pomeroy was derived from the apple growing orchards of La Pommeraie, in Calvados" From the now defunct website http://www.geocities.com/pomerytwig/introduction.html - but see http://sites.google.com/site/pomeroytwig/ . Several orchards survive in the modern English village. This one is opposite Berry Farm by the road to Totnes.
