Dist:0.6km<br/>Made famous through appearances on `Last of the Summer Wine'though this pub is thirteen miles away from Holmfirth. When I came to live in the area the pub was still called The Eastfield, though its nick-name was `The Monkey'. The new owners changed the name (some years ago now).

Dist:0.6km<br/>We wonder if these white fences (and gate-posts) signify the route of a pheasant shoot. They are found in lots of places in the area.

Dist:0.7km<br/>Hopping Lane has been closed for the past year due to flood damage in June 2007 when torrential rain caused the bridge and bank of the tiny dike to collapse.
