Their apparent size and the twist in their trunks suggests sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa) but they might be beech (Fagus sylvatica). Home Farm, right, is some distance away [[SP241798]]

Dist:0.3km<br/>The hall is known locally as the Reading Room. The inscribed plaque in the gable reads J.H.W. 1900 — very likely standing for Joshua Hirst Wheatley who bought Berkswell Hall in 1888. The foundation stone, half hidden by the banner, is seen close up in [[2576549]] Not listed.

Dist:0.4km<br/>This gate leads to a grassy plot, assumed to be reserved as an extension to the churchyard. A plaque inside the lych gate records: "This lych gate was dedicated to the glory of God in memory of William and Elizabeth Huggins on June 24th 1979 by the Lord Bishop of Coventry".
