Dist:0.6km<br/>Earl Howe planted this purple leaf beech tree in March 2000 to commemorate the successful fight to save Penn Wood from developers. The tree was donated by HRH Prince Charles after it was grown at the nurseries at Highgrove.

Dist:0.7km<br/>This tree is thought to be the oldest in Penn Wood. It may have been a pollard in the past but now only has one main branch growing from the trunk. The tree has a hollow trunk which goes right through and other holes used by wildlife such as woodpeckers.
