Dist:0.3km north<br/>This is Brickendon Road at the bridge over the Bayford to Cuffley railway line approaching from Bayford. The road bends to the right and goes up a very steep hill to Brickendon.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>Looking east from Bayford towards the station (where the road disappears in the trees). The station is actually about ¼ mile outside the village, almost midway between Bayford and Brickendon. On the hill to the right of the photo is Brickendon Grange Golf Club (the light green patch).

Dist:0.4km north<br/>Viewed from the road bridge at Bayford railway station, a First Capital Connect train has just left the station bound for Moorgate. The trailing unit number is 313035, and the leading unit was number 313055 in case anyone cares..!! At the end of the straight in the distance is the northern portal of Ponsbourne Tunnel in [[TL3107]]. This is the stretch between Bayford and Cuffley on the Moorgate to Stevenage line.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>This is the Bayford end of the byway that runs about a mile and joins White Stubbs Lane opposite the Fletchers Garden Centre also known as Kingfisher Nursery [[239287]]

Dist:0.9km south<br/>This is the northern entrance to the Ponsbourne tunnel below Blackfan Wood. The section of line is between Bayford and Cuffley stations. Photo taken from the road bridge next to Bayford station (with a telephoto lens). See [[306539]] for the correct perspective. Ponsbourne Tunnel is about 1½ miles long.

Dist:0.9km south<br/>The mansion was built in 1859 by Benjamin Cherry. It was bought in 1964 and became the 18 hole golf club that it is today.

Dist:0.9km east<br/>The Farmer's Boy pub is opposite Brickendon Green. Their car park is across the road to the right of the photo, along with some seating and tables, plus a hitching rail for horses, which I have found to be very convenient (didn't you know horses drink pints and eat crisps). There is also a large pub garden behind the pub. The pub serves food in the garden and the restaurant plus quite a good pint or two of real ale.
