Dist:0.7km<br/>The notorious crossroads outside the village of Owslebury. There have been many serious accidents here, mainly caused by people coming from the right (from Longwood) driving straight across without stopping, despite many warning signs. Because they are both yellow roads, bureaucracy will not allow a HALT AT MAJOR ROAD AHEAD sign. By comparison with the earlier [[95963]] you can see here what Hampshire County Council has done to try to prevent the accidents: red tarmac, and vehicle activated signs. But tragedies have continued and consideration is currently being given to changing the left-right road into a dog-leg. The problem with that, however, is that it is unlikely to slow the traffic on the road seen ahead in this photo, which is a commuter rat-run between the M3 at Winchester and the A32 at Corhampton.
