Dist:0.3km<br/>Three common cottages just inside Shropshire. The common has been bracken choked birch woods for as long as I can remember. As soon as the oaks marking the county boundary is passed the conifers take over.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Limestone quarry, exploiting a band of rock which is a little tougher than most of the limestone here. Later used as a tip, especially in that era when consumption increased, but before the universal refuse collection.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The start of the logging road to the Hope and the ridge between the High Vinnalls and Hanway Common. The trees across the road were planted around 1978.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Bringewood is full of deep gullies, often running for hundreds of metres. These are former tracks, no longer used now there are modern logging roads. Sometimes several gullies can be found running parallel, this is due to a track becoming muddy and waterlogged and being replaced by a later drier course. This process continues today - the popular waymarked route from Black Pool car park to Climbing Jack Common runs beside the gully which was the path used up until about 1990. [[42941]]
