A barrier blocks the way through this track. What was once a minor road between Greenside and Barlow (Liddells Fell Road) is now a pretty run down shadow of its former self.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Electricity is generated by burning methane-rich landfill gas from the Burnhills landfill. The former sand and gravel quarry was used for domestic landfill until recently and is now in the process of being restored.

Dist:0.4km<br/>The barrier marks the west end of the bridleway that runs parallel to Barlow Burn west from the hamlet of Blaydon Burn. The lane between Greenside (ahead) and Barlow, which is partly an unmade track (to the left), was itself once blocked from vehicle access [[115069]]

This shot is taken from fields at the end of Burnhills Lane (itself a horrible track which has been used as a dumping ground for the usual things - old fridges, cookers etc...). Apart from the Folly landhill site, there's not much that this square has to offer.
