In the meantime winter vegetables are growing on what was once parkland for nearby Barcombe House, whose roof can be seen beyond the field and the former East Lodge to the left.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The name of the field according to the 1839 tithe map. Fields with the name 'brook' are usually found next to watercourses and were used seasonally for pasture. This is no exception as the trees to the left mark the course of Bevern Stream, a tributary of the River Ouse. There is currently a permissive footpath running through this field linking two public footpaths between Red Bridge and Beam Bridge.
