Seen from the junction of Chapel an Fair lanes. As often happens with OS, the clump of trees on the horizon is not shown on the map. The clump is at SU5177 3114 and is thus in the next square to the north.

Dist:0.1km<br/>The path runs along the hedge past the tree on the horizon. There are blackberries.

Dist:0.2km<br/>Fair Lane is the one coming in from the left. Both of these lanes are single-track. A footpath that goes all the way to Avington strikes out to the right where the electricity pole is.

Dist:0.2km<br/>A footpath goes up the field boundary but seems to be little used. Unfortunately it had been raining so although I did not get wet from above I got saturated from brushing the water of the crop. This is oil seed rape, mainly post flowering although some of the yellow flowers can still be seen. Interspersed were many poppies.

Dist:0.2km<br/>There are large arable fields in the area. A footpath follows this hedge line to the lone tree on the horizon and beyond.

Dist:0.2km<br/>The footpath leaves the minor road to Easton and heads across arable fields towards Mud Farm.

Dist:0.5km<br/>There are many farm tracks in the area but not all of them are rights of way. This one is, a footpath from Avington to Larkwhistle Farm. But it doesn't always follow this track, soon it turns right along a field boundary.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This appears to be a large crop of wheat, ripening on Harley Hill. Typically of this summer it has been raining.
