This is the Golden Valley junction, one of the busiest on the whole motorway network, where the A40 crosses the M5. Clearly not that busy on a Saturday afternoon in the Spring.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Descent of the eastbound exit slip road. Prior to construction of junction 11a, this was the main access for Cheltenham, Gloucester and the A417/A419 route to Swindon. Traffic volumes made it appropriate to provide a full, split-level junction with independent through routes on both A38 and M5 motorway.
