A Victorian country house now used as centre for residential courses. The change of level in front of the house is a ha-ha which keeps animals out of the garden without obstructing the view as a fence would.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This bridge was designed and built by Louis Harper in 1895 at the request of local folk who wanted their vicar to be able to move easily between his two churches at Sellack and Kings Caple. The Harper Bridges web site has excellent information on the many bridges they constructed around the country and the fence post patent which led to the success of the company. There is still evidence of at least one more bridge to be found over the Derwent - a job for Geograph-ers? http://www.harperbridges.com
