Dist:0.4km<br/>Avebury Trusloe is a small settlement west of its more famous neighbour. The conical hill in the background is Silbury Hill, said by some to be the remains of a load of old shoes dumped there by an itinerant cobbler on his way to (or perhaps from, I can't remember) Marlborough. This explanation is as likely as any other I've heard for the hill's existence. A folk song about the tale of the cobbler can be heard about ten minutes into this 1969 BBC documentary http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/wiltshire/hi/people_and_places/arts_and_culture/newsid_8342000/8342839.stm
