Lewisham Speakers
Lewisham Speakers is a friendly public speaking club where members support each other in becoming more confident and effective speakers.
Most members start as fearful and nervous speakers. Many end up speaking to a professional standard.
Croydon Communicators Public Speaking Club
Croydon Communicators is a local club in Croydon where you can develop public speaking confidence in a supportive learning environment.
We meet in central Croydon to develop our communication, leadership and presentation skills. It's a great way to overcome fear of public speaking and to develop confidence, as well as to meet new people and enjoy a social and educational evening.
Blackheath Wanderers City of London Cricket Club
Blackheath Wanderers City of London Cricket Club plays during the cricket season Saturday afternoons and off season nets on Sunday afternoon.
Old Colfeian Cricket Club
For ages: 8 to 50+
Beginners, improvers, advanced, elite.
The Colfeian Sports Club also offers squash, bowls and martial arts.
The Capital Theatre Company
An amateur dramatic company. New members welcome – acting and non-acting.
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30 - 9.30pm at Mycenae House, Mycenae Road, Blackheath.
Blackheath Scientific Society
Our lectures are usually illustrated by slides, films or videos and we have a discussion time for questions. During the summer recess we normally try to arrange at least one visit to some venue of scientific interest. Visitors are welcome at all meetings.

Blackheath CRAG
What is a crag?
A CRAG (or Carbon Rationing Action Group) is a group of people who have decided to act together to reduce their individual and collective carbon footprints. They do this in annual cycle. First they set themselves an annual emissions target or "carbon ration". Then they keep track of their emissions over the year by keeping a record of their household energy use and private car and plane travel.
Finally, at the end of the year, they take responsibility for any "carbon debt" (i.e. emissions over and above their ration) that they have built up. All carbon debts are paid into the group's "carbon fund" at an agreed rate per kilo of CO2 debt. The fund is then distributed as agreed by the members of the group.
